The NGC Bocas Lit Fest’s organising team includes:
Marina Salandy-Brown is founder and Festival Director. She is a prize-winning former BBC programme maker with a publishing background, and former executive director of the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival. Since 2005 she has been a Newsday columnist. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a former member of the Arts Council of Great Britain’s Literary panel, and in 2005 was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Westminster.
Nicholas Laughlin is Programme Director of the NGC Bocas Lit Fest and a member of the OCM Bocas Prize organising committee. He is editor of the arts and travel magazine, Caribbean Beat, and The Caribbean Review of Books. He is also co-director of the contemporary art space Alice Yard, and a writer with a particular interest in Caribbean literature and art.
Danielle Delon is Director of the KFC Children’s Bocas Lit Fest. She is the editor of The Letters of Margaret Mann, is a former magazine editor, and is a publisher whose current projects include a new book about Trinidad and Tobago food.
Patrice Matthews, Festival Administrator, is a marketing and business professional with over a decade’s experience in the local film, telecommunications, and media industries.
Anna Lucie-Smith, Festival Programme Coordinator, is also the content editor at the National Library and Information Systems Authority, and was previously publishing assistant at the University of Trinidad and Tobago Press.
Joan Dayal, Festival Booksellers’ Coordinator and owner of Paper Based bookshop, which for 26 years has specialised in Caribbean literature and postcolonial writing, and promotes the work of a wide range of local artists.
Jean Claude Cournand, founder of the 2 Cents Movement, and Mickel Guanfranco Alexander are Coordinators of the Verses Bocas Poetry Slam and the Festival’s spoken word and open mic events.
Lucita Esau, OCM Bocas Prize Ceremony and Merchandising Coordinator, runs her own design business.
Richard Mark Rawlins, Festival Designer, has worked in various areas of graphic design, and his work as a visual artist has been shown in several exhibitions. He is the publisher of the contemporary art and design e-magazine Draconian Switch.
Anu Lakhan is the Edinburgh World Writers’ Conference Coordinator for the 2013 NGC Bocas Lit Fest. She is a writer of both prose and poetry, and editor of Macmillan’s Street Food: Caribbean series of books.
Sophie Meyer, Film Programme Curator, is a TV journalist and documentary filmmaker whose works have been screened at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival.
Rudolph Hanamji is Marketing Coordinator and assistant Coordinator of the OCM Bocas Prize ceremony.
Shivanee Ramlochan, Festival Blogger and Social Media Coordinator, is a writer who blogs about books at novelniche.wordpress.com.
Natacha Jones, KFC Children’s Bocas Lit Fest Storytelling Coordinator, is a broadcaster and actor.
Clary Salandy is a carnival artist, theatre designer and three-dimensional design tutor specialising in large scale body sculptures. Clary has contributed to the illustrations for the children’s books.
