Nickolai Salcedo is an actor, musician, visual artist, writer, mas-maker and teacher. A consummate artist and storyteller, Nickolai has always sought to fuse his backgrounds in theater/film acting, music and art. His love for storytelling makes its way into his songwriting which takes its inspiration from the calypso tradition and fuses with other genres to create his music which he performs under the name Gyazette. He has enjoyed a successful career in theater and film and is known for his recent portrayal of Trinidadian war veteran turned judge Ulric Cross in the movie Hero, directed by Frances-Anne Solomon and currently showing on the BBC and Prime Video in the UK & US.
