Lecturer In Lusophone & Brazilian Culture

Sean Samad is lecturer in Lusophone and Brazilian culture at UWI St. Augustine since 2013. Previous academic stints have seen him as Lecturer for Arts and Creative Enterprise Management Postgraduate diploma, UWI St. Augustine, Guest Lecturer at the Institute of International Relations, UWI St. Augustine and in Intercultural Communication at Linnaeus University in Sweden. His passion for all things Brazilian and Portuguese first began when he decided to do a minor in Latin American Studies at Pace University and signed up for a course called South American Colossus: The History of Modern Brazil. Following the awakening of his interest in Brazil he won a Fulbright Scholarship for the study of Portuguese and Contemporary Brazilian culture at the prestigious Universidade de São Paulo’s summer programme in 1999.
