Biography

Jeunanne Alkins is designing a world in which children can grow up playing with iconography that feels like her island home. Channelling the spirit of Caribbean childhood, she has thrown herself wholeheartedly into showcasing the little things that make these islands special; from a family-friendly point of view. Merging play with environmental and cultural education, Jeunanne is keen to not only share her love of the Caribbean but also to create wider impact using design to positively affect how children learn. Jeunanne is a prize-wining creative director, author/illustrator and the founder of design studio, Everything Slight Pepper. She is the Children’s Zone Coordinator for the New Fire Festival, industry coordinator for the Trinidad + Tobago Film Festival and sits on the Board of Management for Asa Wright Nature Centre.
