NGC Bocas Lit Fest 2013 Edition South

#bocas2013

16-17 November 2013

For the first two years of the NGC Bocas Lit Fest, Port of Spain was the only location that came alive with Caribbean literature, buzzed with writers both famous and soon-to-be, plus spoken word artistes, booksellers, publishers, and thousands of readers gathered to celebrate the power of words, stories, and ideas.

In November 2013, a special weekend-long programme of events brought the NGC Bocas Lit Fest to San Fernando and Chaguanas, right to the doorstep of readers and festival fans in South and Central Trinidad.

The inaugural NGC Bocas Lit Fest South+Central featured a diverse collection of readings by talented Trinidadian authors on Saturday 16 November, hosted by two bookshops: RIK Services Ltd in Gulf City Mall, La Romaine, and Nigel R. Khan Booksellers in Mid Centre Mall, Chaguanas. Budding writers were able to sign up for a series of workshops on Sunday 17 November, at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts in San Fernando.

The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago was the title sponsor of this event and the workshops were held in collaboration with the University of Trinidad and Tobago.
