9-11 July 2015

Following on the heels of the recent 5th annual NGC Bocas Lit Fest in Port of Spain, the Tobago festival had at its heart a tribute to one of the Caribbean’s most accomplished and celebrated writers, Earl Lovelace, who turned 80 years old in 2015.

The NGC Bocas Lit Fest Tobago 2015 was held from 9-11 July. The Bocas Lit Fest Tobago was sponsored by the NGC and partnered with Tobago Library Services, the Empowerment Foundation of Tobago and the Tobago Writers Guild.

“We in Tobago are delighted to be able to celebrate the 80th birthday of Earl Lovelace who has a long association with Tobago,” stated Deborah Moore Miggins, director of the Tobago Word Festival, which together with the Tobago Writers Guild, are co-organizers of the NGC Bocas Lit Fest Tobago.  “Doing so at the newly opened Scarborough Library is an extra source of pleasure and satisfaction and we are very grateful to the Library and the THA”, she added.

The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago is title sponsor of the NGC Bocas Lit Fest Tobago. In 2015, the work of the Bocas Lit Fest was also supported by the Ministry of Planning and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Arts and Multiculturalism, UWI, and the Massy Foundation.
