Jimmy October is a national-award-winning singer/songwriter/creative director from the Trinidad and Tobago.
Born L’shun Emmanuel in East Trinidad, the young performer’s already inspiring career is proof of his rich talent and unique sound. He had his first international release in 2017 on Steve Aoki’s album KOLONY, with the single “No Time” Since then, Jimmy October has leaned heavily into his own genre-bending New Calypso sound, after the release of his five-track EP Vacation. His artistic trailblazing has been featured in FADER Magazine in 2018, and in 2019 he was named one of Complex Magazine’s “10 Artists To Watch from Trinidad and Tobago.”
His many hits include “Vacation”, “Remember the Days” and “Magic” (with Kes, featuring Etienne Charles), “Wake Up” and “Healing”.
Jimmy October continues his 2023 run with his second single of the year, “Rum & Calypso”, which is now available on all streaming platforms. Produced by Tano & Brooklyn Decent, this captivating track showcases their seamless fusion of the sounds of Trinidad & Tobago with influences from around the world.
