More Than A Literary Festival

Join us for Merle Collins’s “Oceanic Journeys”, 15 March at UWI, St. Augustine!

Celebrated Grenadian author Merle Collins, current writer in residence at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, will give a feature address at the closing gala of Campus Literature Week 2024 — presented by the Faculty of Humanities and Education, in partnership with the NGC Bocas Lit Fest.

When: Friday 15 March, 2024, at 5 pm

Where: The Centre for Language Learning Auditorium, UWI, St. Augustine

This event is free and open to the public.

Collins is the author of numerous books of fiction and poetry, most recently the cross-genre Ocean Stirrings: A Work of Fiction in Tribute to Louise Langdon Norton Little, Working Mother and Activist, Mother of Malcolm X and Seven Siblings (2023).

Drawing on the title and themes of Ocean Stirrings, and her wide-ranging readings of other Caribbean authors, in her address Collins will speak on “Oceanic Journeys in the Voices of Caribbean Literature”.

Copies of Ocean Stirrings will be available for purchase at the event from Paper Based Bookshop.
