Join us for the next Family Reading Circle for a morning of fun and interactive reading with children’s book author Sonja Dumas!
📚 Saturday 25 October
🕙 10 am to 12 noon
📍14 Alcazar Street, St. Clair
🆓 Open to all; ideal for children, 7 years old and younger, with a parent or guardian.
@sonjajdumas is an arts consultant, performer, choreographer, teacher, award-winning filmmaker, and writer. She is also the author of the timeless and groundbreaking children’s story album Once Upon a Caribbean Time, a collection of original Caribbean folktales for children, as well as the family favourite, Avocado and Zaboca.
Sonja Dumas is the founder of Zum-Zum Museum, an interactive children’s museum, founder and co-director of the COCO Dance Festival, and the founder and artistic director of her dance company, Continuum Dance Project.
Hosted by the @bocaslitfest in collaboration with @letsreadtt, the Family Reading Circle is a read-aloud session that brings books alive for children, setting the foundation for a lifelong love of reading, and helping build crucial language, comprehension, and emotional skills.
Let’s Read TT will bring along their large children’s book library for the little ones to explore, and @paperbasedbookshop will be open with two great offers for parents and guardians!
☕️ The @sleepycatcafe.tt, also located at The Writers Centre, will be open, too, with hot and cold beverages and snacks for purchase.
We look forward to seeing you at The Writers Centre!
