The Latin American and Caribbean Literary Film Festival, an integral part of the NGC Bocas Lit Fest, Trinidad and Tobago’s annual literary festival that offers authors’ readings, panel discussions, workshops, performances, debate, spoken word, prizes, drama, music, book signings and a full children’s festival. The festival had a food court and multiple areas to relax and soak up the atmosphere.
CineLit celebrated the remarkably rich heritage of both literature and film from our hemispheric neighbours and commemorated the life and work of the late Nobel Laureate, poet, Sir Derek Walcott.
The festival featured dozens of feature films and documentaries, including adaptations of literary classics, award-winning films from Latin America and the Caribbean, most of which made their T&T debut.
The NGC Bocas Lit Fest, partnered with the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain and Venezuela to host CineLit 2017.
