The Bocas Lit Fest was invited by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to execute a literary component of Carifesta XIV, that was staged in Trinidad and Tobago from 16 – 25 August, 2019. In typical Bocas tradition, the programme included workshops in POS and San Fernando, readings by prize-winning and new authors, collaborative theatrical and musical performances, the sale of books and special co-branded “Write Home About It” signature Bocas tees and totes.
The Bocas Lit Fest also loaned its treasured collection the OCM Bocas Prize winning books, to be a part of an exhibition staged at the Heritage Library at NALIS, P.O.S., celebrating Caribbean books and authors.
The Bocas Lit Fest also hosted daily Open Mic performances with both local and regional writers and created a small “book fair” where authors from Monserrat, Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana and Antigua were able to promote, sell and sign their books.
A highlight of the programme was the re-staging of the immensely popular Kitch at the Big Black Box, featuring Anthony Joseph.
