Maria Donald is a young Social Worker, performing artist, and business owner rising out of Trinidad and Tobago. In 2020, she graduated from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine with first class honors in Social Work and Social Policy (BSc.). Maria has been performing Spoken Word poetry for approximately 10 years and have competed in the Secondary Schools Poetry Slam in her early days as a performance poet. Maria recently published her first book entitled ‘Unapologetic’ in December 2022, stating that she intends to continuously find creative ways to use her craft as a tool to make positive contributions to society. Through her deep love and passion for people, she has created spaces and platforms for the development of young persons; and prides herself in being a product of hard work, prayer and sacrifice. As an actress and spoken word poet with Drama Making A Difference (DMAD) Company; Maria participated in a number of internationally funded projects, while also and holding an administrative position within the organization. Maria credits her husband, Kameron for being her muse which enables her to grow as a writer and to evolve into the best version of herself. Conclusively and of utmost importance, Maria humbly acknowledges that being a born again Christian is the single most honorable and noteworthy definition of who she is. She has one very clear and specific goal of glorifying Jesus Christ every time she stands before a mic and utilizes the gift that He has entrusted her with.
