lived experience, and a deep commitment to autistic children. She is the author of Adventures with Ava, a heartfelt children’s book inspired by her journey raising her autistic daughter. Adventures with Ava is a celebration of neurodiversity, where this adventure teaches empathy, inclusion, and the beauty of being wonderfully different. Avion holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Child and Youth Studies, and is a certified civil mediator. She is passionate about autism awareness and inclusion; and works in the child protection sector, where she advocates daily for vulnerable children and families, especially those whose voices are often unheard.
