Mrs. Moore-Miggins is considered one of the leading historians of Tobago Speechband and its distinctive art form. A performer, writer and cultural advocate, she brings decades of experience to helping participants discover its language, rhythm and theatrical power.
Her Speechband style has been described as bold and commanding, rich in Tobago character and delivered with flair.
A native of Bethel, she co-founded Pepper Ants 2 Speechband in 1997, continuing her village’s celebrated tradition. Her performances have spanned the Tobago Heritage Festival, Prime Minister’s Best Village Show, Tobago Carnival competitions and community occasions. She continues to perform with Tongue Lash Speechband and share her knowledge through lectures, articles and workshops.
Her writings include Ode to the Tobago Speech Band and Charlie Leith: the Speechband Pioneer. She is also developing a book series on Tobago Speechband, scheduled for release from October 2026.
Known in calypso as Madam Sweet Mouth, she brings a performer’s energy and a historian’s depth to the workshop floor. She was awarded the ‘Medal for the Development of Women (Gold)’ at the 2026 National Awards Ceremony.
