Bio

Dr. McField, a former Government Minister and Executive Council Member in the Cayman Islands Government, is one of the region’s finest living playwrights. Dr. McField has been described by Trinidad’s foremost Playwright, Arts/Culture Educator and Theatre Practitioner, Rawle Gibbons as, “Belonging to a class of writers rare enough at this time in the Caribbean – the talented, serious and productive Playwright.” His plays have been produced in London, Holland, Cuba, Trinidad & Tobago, the USA, The Bahamas and Jamaica. Two of his classic plays – Downside Up and Rime Longer Dan Rope were published in 2000 by the Cayman National Cultural Foundation. McField’s plays have been shows at Carifestas in Barbados IV/1981; St. Kitts VII/2000; and Guyana – X/2008. Downside up will be presented, again, at Carifesta XIV, in Trinidad & Tobago. Dr. McField is currently in the final stages of his book, Between Gods.
