Biography

Garvin Tafari Parsons is a writer, Spanish teacher, Rotaractor and final year student of the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing — Fiction. His writing explores several themes, including identity formation, self-love and acceptance, and navigating societal norms and expectations.

The highlight of his career thus far was being shortlisted for the Bocas Emerging Writers’ Fellowship in 2022. He has also had the privilege of sharing his work at in-person and virtual writing events, namely BackChat: An Evening of LGBTQIA+ Readings in 2018 and 2019 and The UWI, St. Augustine Campus Literature Week between 2014 and 2020.
