Jay T. John is a non binary Trinidadian poet who uses art to contextualize and highlight the nuanced experience of otherness. Their poetry has appeared in the 2018 anthology Unwritten: Caribbean Poems after the First World War and they continue to be inspired and moved by the works of other writers across the Caribbean diaspora. Their greatest aspiration is to create art as resistance. They are a finalist for the 2021 Johnson and Amoy Achong Caribbean Writers Prize.
