Bio

Selwyn R. Cudjoe is a professor of Africana Studies at Wellesley College, Massachusetts. He attended Fordham, Columbia and Cornell universities. He has taught at Fordham, Cornell, Ohio and Harvard universities. He has also written for the New York Times, The Washington Post, the New Left Review and the Trinidad Express where he is a weekly columnist. His most recent book is The Slave Master of Trinidad: William Hardin Burnley and the Nineteenth-Century Atlantic World, longlisted for the 2019 OCM Bocas Prize.
