Thirteen poets have qualified for the big final of the 2016 First Citizens National Poetry Slam.
It is the Caribbean’s biggest Spoken Word event and the final will take place on Sunday 1 May at The Globe cinema – the closing event of the 2016 NGC Bocas Lit Fest.
This is the second year of the National Slam but the fourth year that First Citizens has sponsored the Spoken Word event that offers a top prize of $20,000, with prizes for all finalists.

Both semi-final rounds were judged by a select panel of local poets, and the final will be judged by a panel of internationally renowned, prize-winning poets, participants in the annual NGC Bocas Lit Fest.
Tickets for the finals will be available from Friday 1st April, 2016, at several Francis Fashions outlets: Gulf City, Price Plaza, West Mall, Trincity Mall, Port-of-Spain. For more information, see www.facebook.com/The2CentsMovement
