OCM Bocas Prize open for submissions

The OCM Bocas Prize recognises the best books published annually by writers from the Caribbean.

The overall winner of the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature receives an award of US$10,000 and the two other category winners each receives US$3,000, sponsored by One Caribbean Media.

First, panels of distinguished judges select the best book in each of three genre categories: poetry, fiction, and literary non-fiction. Then the chairperson of each of the three genre panels together with the overall head judge form a final prize jury to select the overall winner from among the three genre winners.

To be eligible for the 2019 Prize, a book must have been published in the calendar year 2018, and written by a single author born in the Caribbean or holding Caribbean citizenship. Books must also have been originally written in English. Publishers may submit a total of five books in each genre category (poetry, fiction, literary non-fiction).
