More Than A Literary Festival

New dates for the NGC Bocas Lit Fest: 18 – 20 Sept

In light of recent developments of confirmed cases of COVID-19 and efforts to curb the spread of the virus in Trinidad and Tobago, the Board of the Bocas Lit Fest has moved to postpone the NGC Bocas Lit Fest, originally scheduled for May 1-3, to September 18-20, 2020.

The Writers Centre, and, by extension, the offices of the Bocas Lit Fest and the Two Cents Movement, situated at 14 Alcazar Street in St Clair, are now closed to the public until further notice.

The semi-final round of the 2020 First Citizens National Poetry Slam, booked for March 22 and 29, has also been postponed for now. However, the Grand Slam finale will take place on September 20 as the closing event of the NGC Bocas Lit Fest.

The Slam Committee advises that all ticket holders will have their tickets honoured at the rescheduled events, dates and times to be confirmed. For more information, email nationalpoetrytt@gmail.com or call 319-4749.

Additionally, the annual NGC Children’s Bocas Lit Fest Storytelling Caravan, known for its visits to communities across Trinidad and Tobago throughout the month of April, has been called off for the time being.

We are currently working to present a dynamic, responsive programme of activities for the foreseeable future, mindful of present constraints and the collective well-being of staff, writers, competitors, patrons and supporters.

Updates to the Bocas Lit Fest 2020 calendar of events will be forthcoming, and will be posted on our website and across all social media platforms.
