The Writers Centre, located at 14 Alcazar Street, St. Clair, stands as Trinidad & Tobago’s creative hub—a home to the acclaimed Bocas Lit Fest, Paper Based Bookshop, and Sleepy Cat Cafe. Here’s your guide to the exciting lineup of events “Happening in October,” with each event hosted by one of the three resident entities, all under one welcoming roof.

As the country’s creative headquarters, The Writers Centre offers much more than events:

  • Relax at Sleepy Cat Cafe: Indulge in specialty teas, rich coffee, and fresh snacks. Find your favourite writing spot or join the vibrant Sleepy Cat Book Club and socials.
  • Discover Caribbean Literature at Paper Based Bookshop: Browse an expertly curated selection of Caribbean fiction, non-fiction, poetry, art, and children’s books.
  • Connect with Authors and the Literary Community: Attend regular book launches, panels, and workshops, fostering conversation and creativity.
  • Opening Hours:
    • Literary Hub: Weekdays 10 AM – 5 PM, Weekends Closed
    • Paper Based Bookshop: Monday-Saturday 10 AM – 5 PM
    • Sleepy Cat Cafe: Weekdays 7 AM – 6 PM, Weekends 9 AM – 4 PM
