Rol-J Williams

Rol-J Williams, a medical student at The UWI, St Augustine, is an avid debater, poet, student of politics, and a panellist on the book review TV programme Page Turners Plus. In 2022, he was chosen as the Best Speaker for the NGC Bocas Youth Fest Big Ideas Debate. From 2018 to 2022, he was a member of the Union Debating Society at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, the oldest of its kind in the English-speaking world. He debated for the Nevis Literary and Debating Society at the Leeward Islands Debating Competition in 2017 and 2018 and led his team to victory on both occasions. Additionally, Williams was a member of the Nevis Youth Parliament and the Commonwealth Youth Parliament and was chosen as Best Orator at the Commonwealth Youth Parliament on two occasions, 2015 and 2018. He was also selected at the 2014 Caribbean Tourism Organisation Youth Congress to be the Caribbean Junior Minister of Tourism for 2014-15.
