I believe it was in either 2018 or 2019 that I was invited to just attend and enjoy poetry slam by a very good friend of mines. Since then I've grown to love the artform and decided to try writing this style of poetry on my own. I'm a musician an have composed songs but never poems. However my experience here has heightened my enthusiasm to be better as a poet. Still have a long way to go though. Entered in 2019 with my first poem but as expected, didn't make it to the semis...This year however, I decided to throw my hat in the ring again, just at the last minute and surprisingly, I got through. So I'm excited to be a first time semifinalist this year. A bit nervous about the performance but building my confidence daily.😊🙏
