We’re always on the look out for enthusiastic book-lovers who can volunteer at the annual NGC Bocas Lit Fest.
Volunteers help with set-up and help ensure that events run on time, usher authors between events and book signings, answer questions about our programme, manage sales and merchandising, and much more.
There are many perks to being a festival volunteer. You will gain valuable work experience and our volunteer badge gives you access to back stage, and the chance to network with others in the literary world including booksellers, publishers, agents, other volunteers and the Bocas team.
We also have openings to join our team for a longer period, with flexible working hours depending on how much time you can give. Our events calendar at The Writers Centre is organised quarterly, so we’re looking for volunteers with events management experience who can commit to helping at evening and weekend events within a 3 month period. We’re also open to more help with day to day affairs, including outreach to schools, workshop registration and general admin at our office during the work day.
