The official festival poster for the 2026 Bocas Lit Fest features artwork by celebrated T&T artist Shalini Seereeram.
The Seeker (2024, acrylic on canvas) depicts a woman lost in imaginative reverie, inspired by the book she is reading — an ideal image to represent a festival that celebrates writers, stories, and ideas.
Released in a limited edition of 100, the posters are signed and numbered by the artist, and available for purchase at the price of TT$250, before and during the 2026 festival. Sales of this commemorative collectible will support the year-round work of the Bocas Lit Fest with writers and readers of all ages.
Each poster measures 18 x 24 inches, printed by Office Authority, official print partner for the 2026 Bocas Lit Fest.
Posters are available for purchase before the festival at Paper Based Bookshop, located at The Writers Centre, 14 Alcazar Street, St. Clair, Port of Spain. During the 2026 Bocas Lit Fest, posters can be purchased at the main festival venue, the National Library in downtown Port of Spain.
Shalini Seereeram’s career spans three decades. Her work has been frequently exhibited in her native Trinidad and Tobago as well as the United Arab Emirates, the UK, the United States, and Barbados, and is prized by collectors.
Her artistic style, according to an artist’s statement, “is informed by continuous line, intricate patterns, dramatic contrast of colour, and a sweeping visual narrative of geometric shapes. Her subject matter does not shy away from the intimacies of human relationships and their spiritual connection to the natural world.”
VINTAGE FESTIVAL ART
From 2011 to 2013, the Bocas Lit Fest invited artists to create original limited edition works of art. The first numbered piece in each edition became part of the unique Collection of Festival Art of the National Museum and Art Gallery, the sponsor of the work.
The works commissioned by the festival are: Give or Take, by Chris Ofili (2011); Mercury, by Nikolai Noel (2012); and Transmission by Wendy Nanan (2013). These editions are still available for sale at TT$3,000. Funds raised from the sale of the signed, numbered works go to the Bocas Lit Fest, which is entirely funded by sponsorship.
And marking 10 years of the Bocas Lit Fest, our anniversary poster depicts Jackie Hinkson’s specially commissioned drawing of the iconic Old Fire Station in downtown Port of Spain, buttressed by the National Library, the home of the Bocas Lit Fest. A few of the 100 numbered, signed copies of this collectible poster from the festival archive are still available at a special price of TT$150.
