Carla Parris is an entertainment and sports lawyer with a Master’s degree in Entertainment & Intellectual Property Law. She is a board member of the Inter-American Development Bank’s Next Gen Board, a web & TV series producer, and an Intellectual Property Law academic.
She provides creative sector development consultancy to governments and business development advice to clients in traditional corporate industries and in the music, Carnival, film, sports, and broadcast industries on a variety of copyright and trademark matters.
Her company Parris Productions Ltd produces The Business of Carnival, an educational talk show which features Caribbean celebrities and well-known entrepreneurs in which the legal and business aspects of the Carnival industry are discussed. The show is currently streaming on the Roku channel in the US, UK, and Canada.
Last year, the company diversified its product line and launched The Business of Carnival Online Academy, a first of its kind e-learning platform dedicated to providing Caribbean based on-demand masterclasses to entrepreneurs and SME’s in the creative sector across the Caribbean.
