Gene is a musician (finger style acoustic guitarist), a composer and arranger who has performed throughout the Caribbean and abroad, and has several albums to his credit. His compositions and arrangements have been used by some of the biggest names in Caribbean Show Business, such as Derek Walcott, Dr. Adrian Augier, Ellen O’Malley Camps, Paul Keens Douglas & The Trinidad Theatre Workshop – to name a few. He was the Musical Director of Walcott’s plays “Steel“ presented at Queens Hall, “Odessy,” performed in Italy & Spain, and ” O Starry Starry Night” performed at The Central Bank Auditorium.
He has collaborated with several Caribbean greats in producing programmes for Radio, T. V. & Live performances. His contribution to the 2021 NGC Bocas Lit Fest is the composition & performance of a theme song “Volcano” specifically composed in support of three poems from ‘The Volcano Suite’ by Shake Keane, as recited by Philip Nanton.
