Valmiki Maharaj is a Caribbean creative innovator. Since his debut as a designer with the TRIBE Group in 2009, Valmiki has grown with the entity, adopting different roles and responsibilities as required to develop its offering. His greatest impact has been felt in his role as co-founder, bandleader, and Creative Director of THE LOST TRIBE, a mas band that blurs the line between the contemporary and the traditional, offering masqueraders theatrical, evocative costume design along with exemplary customer service and amenities on the road.
Under his leadership, THE LOST TRIBE has won two Large Band of the Year titles from the National Carnival Commission, as well as accolades in Downtown and Uptown Carnival. Valmiki also holds the position of Creative Director at Ultimate Events Limited, an events and experience company. Outside of TRIBE, he has worked with numerous bodies and initiatives including Miss World Trinidad and Tobago, Creative Tech Lab Trinidad and Tobago, 40 under 40, IDB Group, and many others
