Christiana Mckie is a budding young author from Trinidad and Tobago. Christiana participated in the Ministry of Community, Development, Culture, and the Arts’ ‘National Colour Me Trinbago’ competition in 2018 and her artwork stood out in the Environmental Category, showcasing her creativity and passion for capturing the essence of Trinidad and Tobago.

Christiana is collaborating with her mother, Marsha Gomes-Mckie, on the illustrated 10 Book Middle Grade Caribbean Series, Mystikal Jacks, “Makayla in the Land of Papa Bois,” was published in 2023 and “Makayla in Mama Dleau’s Underwater Kingdom and “Makalya and the Soucouyant’s Secret” is due in 2024. This captivating middle-grade/teen novel transports readers into a realm of Caribbean folklore, weaving together magic, adventure, and cultural heritage.

Christiana attends Bishops Anstey High School East and spends her free time working on a manuscript of her own, while developing her love for video editing, craft and art. She hopes that her journey will one day inspire others to be proud of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean spirit.

Imagine The Future: New Voices Chapter 4

MC Puppet Anansi sets the stage for a series of engaging performances and readings. The lineup includes Alex the Awesome and the Crazy Quest for the Golden Pod by Jeunanne Alkins, Sonja Dumas's Avocado and Zabouca, and a dramatised reading of Once Upon A Toy Shop by Lylah Persad. Attendees will also enjoy Makayla in the Land of Papa Bois by Marsha and Christiana Gomes-Mckie, The Enchanting Folklore of Trinidad and Tobago by Mishal Rahaman-Ali and Love, Lah Lah by Nailah Blackman. Rounding out the event, NGC Bocas Children's Storytelling Caravan Book 9 promises to captivate with a blend of storytelling and creativity, offering a memorable experience for all.
