Rabindranath Maharaj is the author of six novels and three short story collections. His novel The Amazing Absorbing Boy won both the Toronto Book Award and the Trillium Fiction Prize. Other books were nominated for various awards, including the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, The Chapters First Novel Award, the OCM Bocas Prize, the Rogers Fiction Award, the Foreword Indies Silver Medal for Literary Fiction and the ReLit Award. In 2012, Maharaj received a Lifetime Literary Award, administered by NALIS as part of the commemoration of Trinidad’s 50th independence anniversary, and in 2013, he was awarded Canada’s Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. His latest novel is Fatboy Falldown (Winner of the 2019 Foreword Indies Silver Medal for Literary Fiction).
