Sherwin Rackal is a distinguished puppeteer who graduated from the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Centre and won prestigious awards such as the Founders Grant Scholarship and the Jerry Nelson Scholarship at the National Puppetry Conference. He is a pivotal figure in organizations such as Puppeteers of America, LAGP, and UNIMA International, having founded UNIMA Trinidad and Tobago. Sherwin's creative endeavors span live performances, film festivals, and prestigious conferences, including his involvement in Jim Kroupa's "Howdy Do: Part Duh." Notably, he spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives in Trinidad and Tobago, like the "Puppets of Iere" mentorship program and Puppet Slam. As a moderator for The National Puppetry Conference and the host of "UNIMA TALKS," Sherwin continues to elevate puppetry on a global scale, showcasing his original characters and inspiring fellow puppeteers worldwide.
