Zakiya ‘Griot' Gill is a writer and poet who "comforts the disturbed and disturbs the comfortable" with her unique style of poetry. In 2019, she was awarded Best Spoken Word Artiste (Female) at the Governor of Culture Awards and was nominated at National Youth Awards for in field of Culture and the Arts for her contribution to the art form.
