How can you turn your creative interests into a thriving career? What is the value of writing and other forms of self-expression in personal and professional development? The 2023 NGC Bocas Youth Fest explores these and similar questions through fun, interactive activities for an audience aged 13 to 25 — and our programme is now live!
When: Friday 20 and Saturday 21 October
Where: The Department of Creative and Festival Arts at The University of the West Indies, Gordon Street, St. Augustine
What: The only festival of its kind in Trinidad and Tobago for teenagers and youths, centred on writing and reading
And it’s all FREE!
Highlights include a career fair —where attendees can learn about an array of career options linked to writing and other creative skills — alongside a series of interactive workshops on topics like writing for TV, stand-up comedy, and food blogging, and the popular NGC Bocas Youth Debate, where two teams of eloquent young debaters will face off and compete for both prize money and bragging rights.
The festival will close with the announcement ceremony for the 2023 NGC Bocas Youth Writer Award, which recognises and celebrates talented writers in all genres, aged 25 and under.
