Bloody Scotland crime writing short story competition

Bocas Lit Fest workshop participants can win a trip to Stirling!

Writers from anywhere in the world are invited to enter the 2014 Bloody Scotland short story competition and win a top prize of £1,000.

Bloody Scotland is seeking exceptional crime short stories based on the theme of ‘ESCAPE’.  You can interpret the theme in any way that inspires you, but it must be crime themed.

The 2014 NGC Bocas Lit Fest programme included a full-day crime writing workshop with bestselling crime writers Allan Guthrie and Denise Mina.  Workshop participants are encouraged to enter the competition and have their entry fee waived as a concession.

In addition, Bloody Scotland and the Bocas Lit Fest are running a mini competition to offer workshop participants who enter the international competition a special chance to attend the Scottish festival, all expenses paid, to attend a writing master class at the University of Stirling and meet editors, agents and publishers while at the festival.

Full international competition guidelines are available here.

For more information on the special opportunities being offered to NGC Bocas Lit Fest workshop participants contact us at [email protected].
